Newcomers – Allentown Storefront Exhibition by Lukia Costello

This show, funded by a 2013 NYSCA Individual Artist Commission, features B&W portraits of members of the WNY refugee community, hung in 10 storefronts along Allen St. and Elmwood Avenue.

23 B&W portraits of members of our the WNY refugee community, including individuals taught by Costello during her 3 year teaching position as an adult ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor for Buffalo Public Schools Adult Education Division.

Participating venues: Madonna’s, Cafe 59, Allen St. Dress Shop, Lonnie B’s Beads, Quaker Bonnet, Buffalo Big Print, El Museo Francisco Oller Y Diego Rivera, El Buen Amigo, Allen St. Hardware and Cafe Taza.
