Since 1981 El Museo has presented the artistic voices of Western New York’s diverse communities to the public and has occupied a very special place in Buffalo’s nationally recognized cultural scene. Each year our gallery present professionally curated exhibitions of contemporary fine art of emerging, mid-career, and established regional, national and international artists of color who make a unique contribution to the visual arts through their sculptures, photographs, paintings and installations. El Museo also presents humanities exhibitions of special interest to our mission.
We are presently showing “Identity” photographs by Marcus Wise, with an up coming installation by Hugo Loredo on May 2, 2014, and an exciting exhibition of photographs and poetry by students from Riverside High School in late spring who have participated in our “Educating Beyond the Boarders of School” arts program
El Museo is located in historic Allentown and easily accessible by car, bus and metro rail with ample street parking and lot parking behind our building accessible through Delaware Avenue. We are excited about our upcoming calendar and hope to see you this year!
El Museo’s exhibits and programs are made possible by the generous support of The New York State Council on the Arts and Governor Cuomo, The County of Erie, The City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, The City of Buffalo Common Council, Niagara District Councilman David Rivera, Give4Greatness, The Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo, Key Bank, The Collective Buffalo, and individual donors and suppoters.
